Training Pastors
Developing Disciple-making Churches Worldwide
The passion of World Ministries is to serve pastors and local churches worldwide by coaching them to penetrate culture, lead men and women to Christ, and help them grow to maturity. We work in association with national leaders, local denominations, and established mission organizations to train pastors, church planters, and leaders, and to serve as a catalyst and trainer/coaches in the development of multiplying movements of disciplemaking churches.
The VAST MAJORITY of the world’s young pastors in developing nations have very little Biblical and practical ministry training. World Ministries partners with indigenous Christian organizations to assist them in training pastors and church planters. We especially assist the acceleration of the global church planting movement by equipping leaders to produce multiplying disciple-making churches. Pastors are also taught how to develop micro-enterprise entities in order to make their ministries self-sustaining, rather than depending on funds from the West.
PLT - Overseas
A key component of our international ministry is "PLT" (The Pastoral Leadership that Transforms Training Process) presented in culturally adapted formats.
For a thorough discussion of the PLT process, please check out our PLT page.
Experience has shown that where the national church has existed for 50 or more years, the PLT process is extremely valuable and effective. As we plant churches in more remote, unreached areas, we follow the same disciple-making church principles, but modify them both culturally and practically to communicate a clear plan and structure for church planting and church multiplication.
In all we do to train pastors and church planters, the Bible is our most important resource.
World Intent
Another major thrust of our international ministry is “World Intent”. Through specialized training (Pastor’s Edge Seminars and Leading Edge Seminars) and by partnering with other ministries, we seek to accelerate the fulfillment of the Great Commission through creative, 21st century approaches to cross-cultural missions. Through “World Intent”, the Lord is at work in places and in ways that clearly show His grace and power.
A key component of this strategy is the equipping of international contract workers to serve the Lord while employed overseas. By providing training in how to lead Bible studies, how to share their faith, and how to disciple others, many workers from non-Western backgrounds are able to better relate to host country nationals and share the Gospel with them.
Everywhere we go, World Ministries' staff and volunteers seek to minister with God-given cultural sensitivity. Our goal is to exhibit a servant's heart, compassion, and conviction, as we assist international leaders to fulfill their mission.
GCE - Grace Community Empowerment
Compassionate outreach to the needy has become a key component of our outreach, especially in Asia. World Ministries is able to not only share the facts of the Gospel, but also to act as “the hands and feet of Jesus” as we meet practical human needs among those who suffer.
Dr. Sharon Pastre directs this phase of our ministry from Cebu City, Philippines. As it shares the Gospel and makes disciples in all phases of its work, GCE focuses on:
CHE - Community Health Education
Another aspect of our desire to serve as the “hands and feet of Jesus” is CHE – Community Health Education.
Drilling wells, providing insect-repelling mosquito netting, teaching principles of hygiene, and setting up small water purification systems are some of the key ways we share the love of Jesus as we also share His message of salvation.
